24th February 2026

I had the honor of speaking at the Anti-Narcotics Awareness Seminar organized by The University of Haripur in collaboration with the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF). The event, arranged by the Directorate of Administration, brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished officials with a shared commitment to building a drug-free and healthy society.

The seminar commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome from Director Administration, Major Muhammad Iqbal. We were privileged to have representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, officials from ANF, Major (R) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Madam Saira Bano (Deputy Director, Centre for Counselling and Social Wellbeing), and other respected guests in attendance.

Major (R) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal delivered an insightful keynote address highlighting ANF’s operational efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle organized networks. His message to students—to remain vigilant and proactive in spreading awareness—was both timely and powerful.

During my session, I discussed the psychological and social consequences of substance abuse, emphasizing the critical role of prevention, early intervention, and institutional counseling support. Addressing substance use is not only a law enforcement issue but also a mental health and community responsibility.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Madam Saira Bano, who reinforced the importance of sustained awareness and collaborative engagement. An Awareness Walk from the Central Library to the Administration Block symbolized our collective resolve against drug abuse.

Grateful to the University of Haripur and ANF for organizing such a meaningful initiative. Together, through awareness, education, and support, we can foster healthier and more resilient communities.
