"Together Through Lung Cancer" – a campaign focused on connection, understanding, hope, and supporting everyone affected by lung cancer. While there is no single universally mandated global theme, many leading lung cancer organizations are using this campaign message for 2026.

Awareness Message

World Lung Cancer Day is observed every year on 1 August to increase awareness about lung cancer, promote prevention, encourage early diagnosis, and improve access to quality treatment. Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. In Pakistan, smoking, secondhand smoke, air pollution, occupational exposure to harmful chemicals, and delayed diagnosis are among the major risk factors. Early detection and timely treatment can significantly improve survival rates.

* Coughing up blood

* Shortness of breath

Today 22-Jul-2026 WHO/UN Master Trainer Program on Injectable Polio Vaccine Held at KKF Medical Complex Hyderabad

A WHO/UN Master Trainer Program on Injectable Polio Vaccine (IPV) was successfully held at the Auditorium of KKF Medical Complex Hyderabad. The training brought together District Health Officers (DHOs), WHO focal persons, immunization experts, and healthcare professionals from across Sindh.

The program was hosted by Dr. Raja Batra, who warmly welcomed all participants. At his request, the Medical Superintendent, KKF Medical Complex Hyderabad, extended a heartfelt welcome to all delegates who had traveled from different districts of Sindh and appreciated their commitment to strengthening the province's immunization program.

The training focused on enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of master trainers regarding the safe administration, handling, and promotion of the Injectable Polio Vaccine (IPV). The initiative reflects the continued commitment of WHO, the United Nations, and the Government of Pakistan to eradicate polio and protect every child through effective immunization.

The participants appreciated the excellent arrangements and hospitality provided by KKF Medical Complex Hyderabad and reaffirmed their dedication to supporting the national polio eradication efforts.
