H.E. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH, along with a high-level delegation from Pakistan , visited The Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Ningbo University, China on 5th june 2026

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the hospital’s advanced healthcare facilities, clinical services, research activities, medical technologies, and patient care systems. The visit provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for cooperation in healthcare, medical education, research, and capacity building.

Prof.qbal Choudhary appreciated the hospital’s achievements and its contributions to modern healthcare services. He highlighted the importance of strengthening international collaboration in medical sciences and healthcare innovation for the benefit of communities worldwide.

As a gesture of goodwill and friendship, Prof. Dr. Choudhary presented the OIC-COMSTECH shield to Dr. Zhou Wenhua, President and Director of The Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Ningbo University.

On the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 2026, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to you and your families. Eid Mubarak.

May Allah (SWT) accept our sacrifices, purify our hearts, and unite us in faith, compassion, and brotherhood. May this sacred occasion bring peace, strength, prosperity, and spiritual fulfillment to all of us.

Let us also remember our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Kashmir, and other parts of the world who continue to face trials, oppression, and humanitarian suffering. We pray that Allah (SWT) grants them courage, relief, justice, and lasting peace.Their struggle remains in our prayers and in our collective conscience.

H.E. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH, participated as Distinguished Guest Speaker in an international webinar titled *“The Wonders of Nature – Our Work on Bioactive Natural Products” organized by the African Centre for Herbal Research (ACHRI), University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

The webinar was attended by researchers, academicians, pharmacologists, biochemists, herbal medicine experts, students, and professionals from different countries. Senior officials of the University of Ilorin, ACHRI, COMSTECH, ICCBS, and partner institutions also participated in the session.

During his keynote address, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary highlighted the global importance of natural products research, bioactive compounds, medicinal plants, and drug discovery. He shared valuable insights on chemical diversity of natural products, natural product chemistry, chromatographic analysis, and emerging opportunities in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

He emphasized that natural products are not merely molecules but represent biological strategies developed by nature for survival and therapeutic potential. He also underlined the importance of scientific collaboration among developing countries, particularly in the fields of health sciences, medicinal chemistry, and innovation.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion (Q&A) and exchange of ideas between participants and experts from various international institutions.

A courtesy call meeting was held between Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH H.E. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and Rector International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Osman Bakar, to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation in science, technology, higher education, research, fellowships, and training programs.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary appreciated IIUM’s contributions towards higher education, research, and intellectual development in the Muslim world. He highlighted COMSTECH’s commitment to promoting scientific cooperation, researcher mobility, fellowship programs, and capacity-building initiatives across OIC member states.

The Coordinator General proposed various joint initiatives, including short-term research fellowship programs for IIUM students and researchers, faculty and student exchange opportunities, collaborative training programs, and joint research projects in emerging scientific fields. He also proposed collaborative initiatives for supporting scientists, researchers, and students from conflict-affected regions and Muslim minority communities through academic and research opportunities.

Rector IIUM Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Osman Bakar welcomed the proposals and expressed IIUM’s interest in strengthening collaboration with COMSTECH in the areas of science, education, research, innovation, and academic exchange.

Both sides agreed to further enhance institutional cooperation through joint programs, fellowships, academic mobility, and research collaboration for the benefit of the Muslim world.

Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH H.E. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary will participate as Guest Speaker in an international webinar titled “The Wonders of Nature – Our Work on Bioactive Natural Products” on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

The webinar is being organized by the African Centre for Herbal Research (ACHRI), University of Ilorin, Nigeria, with the support of the U6+ Consortium of Top African Universities.

During the webinar, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary will share insights on bioactive natural products, natural medicines, and recent advancements in natural products research and drug discovery.
