Persistent heartburn that keeps returning may be more than ordinary acidity. In some cases, it can be associated with a hiatal hernia, where part of the stomach moves upward through the diaphragm and may contribute to reflux symptoms.

Common symptoms may include:
✔️ Frequent heartburn
✔️ Acid regurgitation
✔️ Difficulty swallowing
✔️ Upper abdominal or chest discomfort

Small hiatal hernias may cause few or no noticeable symptoms, while larger ones may contribute to persistent reflux and swallowing problems. Proper evaluation can help determine whether a hiatal hernia or another digestive condition is responsible.

Persistent diarrhoea should not be dismissed as a temporary stomach problem, especially when it repeatedly returns or is accompanied by pain, bleeding, fatigue, or weight loss. It may be associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Common warning signs may include:
✔️ Persistent diarrhoea
✔️ Abdominal pain or cramping
✔️ Blood or mucus in the stool
✔️ Unexplained weight loss
✔️ Ongoing fatigue
IBD is not the same as IBS. It involves inflammation of the digestive tract and requires proper clinical assessment to identify the condition and guide treatment.
Seek prompt medical care if symptoms include heavy bleeding, severe abdominal pain, high fever, repeated vomiting, dehydration, faintness, or rapid worsening.

Difficulty swallowing, also known as dysphagia, should not be ignored, especially when food or liquids repeatedly feel stuck in the throat or chest.
Common warning signs may include:
✔️ Food sticking in the throat or chest
✔️ Pain or discomfort while swallowing
✔️ Coughing or choking during meals
✔️ Food or acid coming back up
✔️ Unexplained weight loss
Dysphagia is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It may be associated with acid reflux-related irritation, inflammation, narrowing of the esophagus, or swallowing-movement disorders. Proper medical evaluation is needed to identify the underlying cause.
Seek urgent medical care if food becomes completely stuck, swallowing suddenly becomes impossible, or breathing is affected.

22/07/2026

Colorectal cancer can develop without noticeable symptoms, which is why timely screening and individual risk assessment are important.
Screening may help identify precancerous polyps or early changes before they progress. You may need to discuss screening with a specialist if you:
✔️ Are 45 years of age or older
✔️ Have a family history of colorectal cancer or polyps
✔️ Previously had colon polyps
✔️ Have inflammatory bowel disease or another increased-risk condition
Do not ignore warning signs such as blood in the stool, persistent changes in bowel habits, abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, or ongoing weakness and fatigue.
Screening recommendations vary according to age, symptoms, medical history, and individual risk. Consult a gastroenterologist for appropriate guidance and evaluation.

19/07/2026

Blood in the stool should never be ignored. It may appear bright red, dark red, or maroon, or as black, tarry stool, and can be linked to bleeding from different parts of the digestive tract.
Possible causes may include:
✔️ Haemorrhoids or a**l fissures
✔️ Stomach or intestinal ulcers
✔️ Digestive-tract inflammation
✔️ Diverticular disease
✔️ Polyps or other bowel conditions
Seek urgent medical care if bleeding is heavy or persistent, the stool becomes black or very dark, large clots appear, or you experience severe abdominal pain, dizziness, weakness, shortness of breath, or vomiting of blood.
Bleeding is a symptom not a diagnosis. Proper examination and testing are necessary to identify its source and underlying cause.
