Healthy eating habits established in the first two years of life can influence health outcomes for decades to come.

Today is a proud and memorable day for all of us at Shifa.

Shifa has become only the second institution in Pakistan, after Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi, to receive Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation as an Academic Medical Center (AMC).

As Program Director for Pediatrics, I feel immense pride and gratitude in being part of this remarkable achievement.
While accreditation is often viewed as a recognition of standards and processes, for me it represents something even more meaningful: our commitment to excellence in patient care, medical education, and professional development.

This recognition affirms that our undergraduate and postgraduate trainees are learning in an environment where education is structured, supervision is robust, feedback is continuous, and assessment is meaningful. It reflects our shared goal of transforming learners from observers into competent, confident, and independent healthcare professionals capable of delivering safe and high-quality care.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this journey and proud to be part of an institution that continues to advance the culture of quality, patient safety, academic excellence, and lifelong learning.
