Psychologists Hub conducted Episode 4 of the EHSAAS Podcast Series, โThe Hidden Mind: How Your Subconscious Shapes Your Life,โ as part of its ongoing commitment to mental health awareness and psychoeducation under SDG 4: Quality Education. The session was hosted by Dr. Halima S. Qureshi, Clinical Psychologist and Founder/Director, Psychologists Hub, and featured Dr. Uzma Masroor, Dean of Professional Psychology at Bahria University, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and CEO/Director of PR&TS, as the expert guest speaker.
Dr. Uzma explored how the subconscious mind influences our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and decision-making, particularly through experiences and emotional learning accumulated over time.
The conversation also highlighted that the subconscious does not only hold difficult experiences; it can also contain valuable inner resources such as confidence, calmness, resilience, and problem-solving abilities. Dr. Uzma explained that these resources may already exist within us but may not be accessible in every situation.
A key part of the session was Dr. Uzmaโs five practical strategies for working with subconscious patterns: 1) gain clarity about what you need, 2) take small and realistic steps, 3) create a calm state before trying to change, 4) use simple and positive self-suggestions, and 5) give your mind a clear and achievable timeframe. These practical โmind hacksโ offered viewers simple ways to begin working with their thoughts, emotions, and behavioural patterns in everyday life.
The session concluded with an important message about self-awareness, change, and healing. Understanding why we think, feel, and react in certain ways can help us recognize patterns beneath conscious awareness and gradually develop healthier responses. The discussion emphasized that awareness is often the first step toward meaningful change and healing.
