Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), a constituent institution of GAK HealthCare International, commemorated Clinical Trials Day 2026 under the theme “Research Rising” in collaboration with IQVIA, celebrating the growing role of clinical research in advancing healthcare, innovation, and evidence-based medical practices.

The event was attended by Group CEO GAK HealthCare Yasir Khan Niazi, Director ANTH Dr. Areej Neyazi, senior management representatives, doctors and support staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Yasir Niazi highlighted the importance of involving medical and allied health students in clinical trials initiatives to strengthen the future of healthcare research. In response to the growing health risks associated with the Dengue virus, Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH) and Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) organized a comprehensive Clinico-Pathological Conference (CPC) and Dengue Awareness Session.

The session was specifically designed to equip our medical staff, House Officers, Postgraduates (PGs), and students with updated clinical protocols and advanced patient care strategies. Head of Internal Medicine Department Prof. Dr. Rizwan Aziz Qazi delivered a profound training session focusing on complex case management, timely diagnosis, and effective fluid management for admitted patients in accordance with the latest medical guidelines, while Assistant Professor Dr. Ehtisham Hafeez was also actively involved in the session.

The prestigious event was graced by the Vice Chancellor Maj. Gen. (R) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, alongside Director ANTH Dr. Areej Neyazi, Head of Communications Imran Ali Ghouri, and other senior faculty members.

During the ceremony, Internal Medicine Department was specially commended for its exceptional resilience and high-quality healthcare delivery during the peak Dengue seasons, despite the massive influx of patients.

Acknowledging these tireless efforts, Dr. Areej Neyazi presented a special appreciation shield to Prof. Dr. Rizwan Aziz Qazi, while certificates of appreciation were awarded to the dedicated doctors and frontline medical staff.
