Pre-Conference Workshop on Childhood Stuttering – “Little Voices, Big Pauses”

Sindh Institute of Child Health & Neonatology (SICHN) successfully conducted the Pre-Conference Workshop on Childhood Stuttering – “Little Voices, Big Pauses.”

The workshop brought together experts from pediatric neurology, speech therapy, clinical psychology, and pediatrics, focusing on the early identification, assessment, and supportive care of childhood stuttering.

The session featured expert contributions from Dr. Farida Jan, Ms. Azra Nawaz, Marvi Soomro, Kaneez Fatima, Dr. Shaneela Khan Asad, and Dr. Sameera Saleem.

Held at IQRA Learning Centre, SICHN Children’s Hospital, Korangi 5, the workshop provided a platform for meaningful learning, discussion, and knowledge sharing to improve communication outcomes for children.

Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN), in collaboration with Prime Hospital Healthcare Facility, successfully conducted a Clubfoot Deformity Surgery Series by Overseas Surgeons at SICHN Children’s Hospital Korangi 5.

The initiative brought together specialized surgical expertise to provide quality treatment for children with clubfoot deformities, further strengthening SICHN’s commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare across Sindh.

The program was honoured by the presence of Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Honourable Minister for Health, Government of Sindh, as the Chief Guest at the Appreciation Certificates Award Ceremony. Her presence and support recognized the dedicated efforts of the overseas surgical team, healthcare professionals, and collaborating partners.

The ceremony celebrated their valuable contribution towards strengthening specialized pediatric surgical care and improving health outcomes for children.

Sindh Institute of Child Health & Neonatology (SICHN), in collaboration with UNICEF, inaugurated an intensive 5-Day Training Workshop for Lactation Expert Resource Persons (Staff Nurses).

The inauguration was graced by Mr. Tahir Hussain Sangi, Secretary Health; Prof. Syed Jamal Raza, Executive Director SICHN; and Mr. Prem Bahadur Chand, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Sindh.

The training brings together nominated clinical maternity ward nurses from 13 major hospitals across Sindh, with a focus on strengthening professional capacity, promoting evidence-based lactation support, and advancing optimal breastfeeding practices.

SICHN successfully conducted a training session on “Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn: A Practical Approach to Diagnosis and Management.”

The session was led by Prof. Junaid M. Khan, Director Medical Education and Senior Consultant Neonatologist, who shared valuable insights into the diagnosis, clinical assessment, and management of PPHN in newborns.
