On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, Dr. Usman H. Bhatti, Director Medical Services and Interventional Cardiologist at OMI Hospital, was invited to share important awareness regarding high blood pressure, its prevention, and the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment.
During the session, he discussed how hypertension is known as a “silent killer” because many people remain unaware of their condition until serious complications develop. Different questions were discussed regarding unhealthy lifestyle habits, stress, lack of physical activity, excessive salt intake, obesity, and the importance of regular blood pressure monitoring.
He also highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through balanced diet, regular exercise, proper medication compliance, and routine medical checkups to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other complications related to hypertension.
The discussion acknowledged the importance of public awareness and preventive healthcare in helping communities lead healthier and safer lives.
