Karachi Medical and Dental College (KM&DC) KMDC set new trends in admission, merit being the sole criteria for admission with no quota system or self-financing scheme.

Karachi Medical and Dental College came into existence in November, 1991 with Abbasi Shaheed Hospital as its affiliated hospital, becoming the first Medical College of the Country to be established and run by a City Government. KMDC was the first public sector Medical College of Pakistan to initiate an entrance test for admissions. The college is given guidelines by a Governing Body, which works i

n close liaison with the Academic Council. In a short span of 21 years, the students of KMDC have achieved academic distinctions. Karachi University positions are invariably taken by KMDC students in annual MBBS & BDS Examination. Out of 43 students of first batch of KMDC, 20 have been successful in postgraduate exams. The postgraduate qualifications achieved by KMDC students are major diplomas like FCPS, MRCP, FRCS instead of minor qualifications. The Karachi Medical and Dental College is situated at Block "M" North Nazimabad with attached hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Nazimabad. Construction of phase II of KMDC was initiated in july 2002 and has eventually brought all basic sciences together in the new campus. With the approval of Governing Body a Learning Resource Centre with modern information technology and Skills Labs are being setup at the college and at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The college has also entered in to the COME (Community oriented medical education) program . It is the 5th public sector college of Pakistan to use this modern teaching methodology.

اہم اطلاع۔۔۔۔۔۔۔
جولائی کے پہلے 10 دن بینک صرف 1 دن کھلیں گے۔۔۔
عوام اگر عید کی تیاریاں اور کسی بھی لین کیلئے بینک سے رجوع کرنا چاہتے ہیں تو فوری طور پر کر لیں کیونکہ جولائی کے پہلے دس دن میں بینک صرف ایک دن ہی کھلیں گے یعنی 30جون کو جمع کروایا گیا چیک 11جولائی سے پہلے کلیئر نہیں ہو گا۔ یکم جولائی کو بینک ششماہی آڈٹ کی وجہ سے بند ہیں جبکہ دو اور تین جولائی کو ہفتہ وار تعطیل ہو گی ،پانچ سے آٹھ جولائی عید کی چھٹیاں ہوں گی ،9اور 10جولائی کو پھر ہفتہ وار تعطیل ہو گی یعنی جولائی کے پہلے ہفتے میں بینک صرف چار جولائی کے روز کھلیں گے چونکہ 30جون کو جمع کروائے گئے چیک کلیئر کرنے کیلئے ایک دن ناکافی ہو گا اس لیے چیک کلیئر کروانے کیلئے 11جولائی تک انتظار کرنا ہوگا۔۔۔
