There are parts of us that we spend years avoiding. Pain we push aside. Memories we lock away. Emotions we convince ourselves are too overwhelming to feel. We do this because, at one point, avoidance helped us survive.
But what protects us in one chapter can quietly keep us stuck in the next.
Healing is rarely about becoming someone new. More often, it is about gently turning toward the parts of yourself that have been waiting to be seen with compassion instead of judgment. The fear, the grief, the shame, the anger, and the vulnerability are not signs that you are failing. They are invitations to understand your story more deeply.
Transformation does not happen because the pain disappears. It happens because your relationship with that pain begins to change. When you meet yourself with curiosity instead of criticism, courage instead of avoidance, and compassion instead of shame, something shifts. The parts of you that once felt unbearable no longer have to be carried alone.
