Three days free eye camp at Bumby Sahiwal, organised by Rana Family from 3rd to 6th April and team of Al-Rehman Medical centre taken care of patients. Total 97 Cataract Surgeries performed with Intraocular Lens implant in three days and more than 1700 patients examined in OPD.*
Finally all 97 operated patients examined as follow up on Last day on 6th of April، 2026. All patients got good vision and found happy. *Allah SWT bless every one who made this event extremely successful.*

World Glaucoma Day Awareness Session Successfully Held

On the occasion of World Glaucoma Day (12 March 2026), Al Rehman Medical Centre Karachi, in collaboration with the Pakistan Optometric Society – Sindh Chapter, organized an awareness session to educate the community about glaucoma and the importance of early detection.

The event was attended by optometrists, students, and patients, who gathered to learn more about this sight-threatening disease.
Ms. Hina Haider delivered an informative lecture explaining the causes, risk factors, prevention, and treatment options for glaucoma. She emphasized the importance of regular eye examinations to prevent irreversible vision loss caused by late diagnosis.
Participants actively engaged in the session and appreciated the initiative taken by the organizers to raise awareness about eye health.
The program concluded successfully, reflecting the commitment of Al Rehman Medical Centre Karachi and the Pakistan Optometric Society Sindh Chapter to promote eye care awareness and prevent blindness in the community.

Successful One-Day Conference on Advances in Ophthalmology & Allied Eye Care

The Pakistan Optometric Society (POS) Sindh Chapter, in collaboration with Al Rehman Medical Centre, successfully organized a one-day scientific conference titled “Advances in Ophthalmology & Allied Eye Care” on January 18, 2026, at Al Rehman Medical Centre, Karachi.

The conference was honored by the presence of our Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Israr Ahmed Bhutto (HOD Ophthalmology, JPMC Karachi), who appreciated the efforts of allied eye care professionals and emphasized their vital role in preventing avoidable blindness.

More than 100 ophthalmic and allied eye care practitioners from across Sindh participated in this academic event. The program included insightful talks on amblyopia management, corneal topography, exotropia, myopia control, low vision rehabilitation, and the future role of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

Special addresses were delivered by Mr. Aashique Ali Soomro (Senior Vice President, POS Sindh) and Dr. Muhammad Shahnawaz Munami (CEO, Al Rehman Medical Centre).

The event concluded with certificate distribution, group photography, and networking lunch, making it a truly enriching and successful academic gathering.
