Successful Academic Event Report The Pakistan Optometric Society (POS) – Sindh Chapter, in collaboration with Haji Rang Elahi Eye & General Hospital (HREEGH), successfully organized an academic session titled “Advances in Myopia Management & Vision Care” on 9th January 2026.within the premise of the Department of Ophthalmology, Haji Rang Elahi Eye & General Hospital
The program was gracefully hosted by Ms. Habiba Tahir, who ensured a well-organized, engaging, and smooth flow of the session.
The event featured insightful presentations by Mr. Muhammad Ismail Jiskani, President POS Sindh & Vice President AHPC, and Mr. Qurban Ali Jatoi, Senior Optometrist, HREEGH & General Secretary POS Sindh chapter Both speakers shared valuable knowledge and highlighted recent advancements in myopia management and modern vision care practices.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Aashique Ali Soomro, Senior Vice President POS Sindh, setting a positive and professional tone for the academic discussion.
At the conclusion of the program, certificates were distributed to the presenters and all participants in recognition of their active participation and contribution.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Syed Adnan Ahmad, Medical Director HREEGH, who expressed sincere appreciation to all speakers, organizers, and participants for making the session successful.
A group photograph was taken at the end of the program. Optometrists from across Karachi actively attended the session, reflecting strong professional engagement. Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed, Chairman, Department of Rehabilitation and Health Sciences, Nazeer Hussain University, also honored the event with his presence, further adding to the significance of the academic gathering.
