The crisis is over⦠so why do you suddenly feel exhausted, drained, or unwell?
This can happen after a prolonged period of stress. While youβre dealing with a crisis, your body stays alert and releases stress hormones to help you keep going. Once the stressful situation ends, that heightened state can drop leaving you feeling physically and emotionally exhausted.
This is sometimes called the let-down effect.
Your body may be telling you:
π Youβve been holding on for long enough. Now itβs time to recover.
Give yourself permission to slow down, rest, sleep, eat well, and process what youβve been through. Recovery is not laziness itβs part of healing.
β¨ You donβt always need to bounce back. Sometimes, you need to breathe, pause, and recover.
