Mental Health is Public Health

In recent years, we’ve seen a global shift in how mental health is perceived not just as a personal issue, but as a public health priority.

From the rise in anxiety and depression post-COVID, to the impact of conflict, poverty, and displacement, mental health challenges are deeply connected to broader social determinants. In countries like Pakistan, limited access to services, stigma, and lack of mental health infrastructure continue to widen the treatment gap.

But there’s hope.

We are seeing more professionals, policymakers, and communities advocating for integrated mental health services within primary healthcare, schools, and humanitarian responses.

Mental health is not a luxury, it’s a necessity for resilient, productive, and equitable societies.

It’s time we move from awareness to action.
Let’s build systems that protect and promote mental well-being for all.
