Academic Activity 05-08-2026
combined clinical class of postgraduate residents, House Officers, and final year MBBS students was arranged in the Department of Medicine. During the session, examination of the Abdomen was discussed in detail and demonstrated practically by the final year MBBS students and postgraduate residents.
The session remained highly interactive, and most of the students actively participated by performing Abdominal examination under supervision ,which greatly enhanced the learning experience of the students.
The class was supervised by Dr Abdul Hayee Phulpoto, Associate Professor Medical Unit 2 KMC Civil Hospital Khairpur who guided the students and contributed valuable clinical teaching points throughout the session.

Today, short case was scheduled as part of routine academic activities.
Dr Suhail Ahmed was assigned a patient presenting with Fever and He performed a focused examination of the General physical examination with relevant systemic evaluation. His clinical assessment was thorough, and He formulated a provisional diagnosis of Malaria / Enteric fever
He was assessed through viva voce. The session was conducted by Dr. Abdul Raheem Tunio (Senior Registrar, Medicine)
The session was conducted in a structured and academically productive manner. Input from postgraduate residents and house officers was also incorporated during the session to support ongoing improvement in future academic activities.

Today’s academic session was conducted by the House Officer Dr Mahnoor was instructed to examine General physical examination. She performed a thorough examination and identified Anemia and pedal edema
Based on her clinical findings, she formulated differential diagnoses including Chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease
She subsequently defended her findings during a viva voce conducted by Senior PGRs ,
At the end of the session, feedback was obtained from postgraduate residents and house officers for future improvement. Identified shortcomings were addressed, and necessary corrections were explained.

A vacation academic session was conducted in Medical Unit II (M2). During the session, a short case was discussed in detail for the benefit of postgraduate residents and house officers.
Dr. Karamullah Memon presented and examined a patient with pneumonia. He performed the clinical examination competently and confidently defended the viva voce conducted by Dr. Abdul Hayee Phulpoto, Associate Professor of Medicine.
In the second session, Dr. Bakhtawar, Senior Postgraduate Resident (PGR), delivered a teaching class for House Officers on the interpretation of X-rays. The session was highly interactive, informative, and well received by the participants, enhancing their understanding of systematic X-ray interpretation.
