A female doctor Dr Mahnoor (Trainee Dr) in Quetta has reportedly become the victim of a horrific acid attack, an incident that has deeply shaken Pakistan’s healthcare community.
Healthcare professionals dedicate their lives to saving others, often working under extreme pressure, long hours, and challenging conditions. An attack on a medical professional is not just an act of violence against an individual—it is a direct assault on the values of care, compassion, and humanity that the healthcare system is built upon.
This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and protection of healthcare workers, particularly women serving in frontline medical roles. It has also intensified calls for stronger security measures, swift legal action, and zero tolerance for violence against medical staff.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter, while the medical community and civil society continue to demand justice and improved safety frameworks for healthcare professionals across the country.
Our thoughts remain with the victim, her family, and colleagues during this difficult time.
