Did you know that the pyogenic granuloma can extend beyond the labial or buccal aspect into the lingual region. What gives it away is the peduncle or stalk of origin. A giant cell granuloma will have this feature missing. Also, bony involvement is usually absent in a pyogenic granuloma. This doesn’t necessarily bleed spontaneously or on gentle probing. There are other features but these will help you differentiate it from other lesions.

A 7 year old girl reported with a fever 7 days ago with agitated behaviour and inability to eat or drink and unwillingness to eat anything at all. On examination, there was boggy gingiva that bleeds easily and parents also complained of ulcers in the anterior region.

Burning sensation on eating even mildly salty and spicy foods. Patient is a middle aged female with history of hypertension and diabetes and taking medicines for both conditions.
There is no other significant medical history.
