🚨 Emergency Life-Saving Endoscopy Last Night

A middle-aged gentleman arrived in the ICU with massive haematemesis and was in profound hypovolemic shock, requiring vasopressors despite aggressive resuscitation.
His hemoglobin was 4.6 g/dL, and blood products were still being arranged.

With a strong suspicion of ongoing active bleeding, we could not afford to wait.
At 11 PM, an emergency gastroscopy was performed.

🔹 Endoscopic Therapy

Adrenaline injection (4 aliquots)

Thermal coagulation with Gold Probe

Coagrasper therapy for definitive hemostasis

🌟 Outcome

The patient improved rapidly, was off vasopressors the next morning, and was discharged in stable condition after 2 days.

Timely endoscopic intervention saved a life.
