**White patches on your skin? It's not always vitiligo.**

White or lighter patches can appear for different reasons, including **vitiligo, fungal infections, eczema, or changes in pigmentation after inflammation.**

While vitiligo involves loss of skin pigment, some fungal conditions may cause lighter patches with fine scaling. Other patches may develop after a rash or skin irritation has healed.

These conditions can look similar, but **their causes and treatments are different.**

At **Optoderma**, Dr. Muneeza Qamar, Dermatologist & Cosmetologist, focuses on identifying the underlying condition before recommending treatment.

**Don't assume it's vitiligo. Get the right diagnosis.**

Redness, itching, or burning around your eyes? Don't ignore it.

The skin around your eyes is delicate, and irritation isn't always just dryness.

It could be eyelid eczema, contact dermatitis, an allergic reaction, or irritationfrom skincare products, makeup, or even nail products transferred by touch.

Applying random creams, especially steroids near the eyes, can sometimes make matters worse.

At Optoderma, Dr. Muneeza Qamar, Dermatologist & Cosmetologist, focuses on identifying the underlying concern before recommending treatment.

**Don't just soothe the symptoms. Understand the cause.**

Acne keeps coming back? Maybe it's time to look beyond the breakout.

Recurring acne isn't always about oily skin or the wrong facewash.

Hormonal changes, inflammation, unsuitable products, and incomplete treatment can all contribute to persistent breakouts.

Trying a new cream every few weeks may not solve the problem — especially when the underlying factors remain unaddressed.

At **Optoderma**, Dr. Muneeza Qamar, Dermatologist & Cosmetologist, focuses on understanding your skin and recommending treatment suited to your condition.

**Don't just control the breakout. Understand what's causing it.**

Flakes and itching don’t always mean the same thing.
What looks like simple dandruff may sometimes be seborrheic dermatitis — a condition that can involve redness, irritation, greasiness, and even affect areas like the eyebrows, ears, and around the nose.
That’s why persistent scalp symptoms shouldn’t be brushed off.
If it keeps coming back, feels more inflamed, or isn’t improving with routine shampoos, it may be time for a proper assessment.
The right treatment starts with the right diagnosis.

Why does your rash keep coming back?
Because “rash” is a symptom, not a diagnosis.
Eczema, contact dermatitis, fungal infections, allergies, irritants, and incomplete treatment can all look similar — but they may need very different management.
If it keeps returning, don’t keep guessing.
Get the cause assessed. Then treat it properly.

A patient came to Optoderma after already being treated for what was thought to be a fungal infection.
But the lesion was not improving as expected.
Instead of simply continuing the same treatment, Dr. Muneeza reassessed the case carefully, looked at the pattern and presentation again, and changed the direction of treatment based on the actual diagnosis.
That shift made the difference.
The lesson is simple: not every skin lesion that looks similar has the same cause. When treatment is not working, the answer may not be “stronger treatment” — it may be a better diagnosis.
At Optoderma, we believe good dermatology starts with listening, examining, and understanding the problem before deciding what to treat.
Don’t just treat the appearance. Understand the cause.
