Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) Awareness

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease that mainly affects the spine and sacroiliac joints, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. It most commonly affects young adults (15–40 years), especially males, and early diagnosis is key to preventing long-term damage.

⚠️ Don’t ignore these symptoms:
• Chronic low back pain > 3 months
• Morning stiffness improving with activity
• Pain better with exercise, not rest
• Reduced spinal flexibility

Early diagnosis = better quality of life
Early treatment = prevention of disability

If you suspect inflammatory back pain, consult a rheumatologist.
