Gestalt Language Processing is so close to my heart and soul which I cannot even describe.
Here are the most common and my most favorite lines from my GLP kids. Let's break that down for you.
1. I feel rollercoaster:
A child Said that to me while screaming and jumping around. She was definitely excited. I asked How you feeling? And She took a pause, looked at my face and said I FEEL ROLLERCOASTER.
2. Zahra ko Hungry nh hy:
During mealtime, the Child's mother was insisting her to eat with the other family members. The child, being irritated kept running around. The mother got upset and then as per mother's words, the child came up and said Zahra ko hungry nh hy 🥹
3. No, Subscribe, See you the next time:
The child didn't want to go with someone (familiar and even close person). He used mitigated Echolalia to communicate his denial saying "No, Subscribe, See you in the next one"
4. Let's go, black moon
Probably a shopping place. The child wanted to go somewhere. Didn't know the name of that place. So he communicated with "BLACK MOON".
5. Red Car nh chahye?
The father denied the child's access to the red car saying I'll buy it later for you. After a few days, the child went up to him reminding him of the car "RED CAR NH CHAHYE?"
Gestalt Language Processors are unique in their own way. They have a lot more potential than we assume. All we need to do is to affirm and support their communication and communication style ✨

‼️Read Caption ⁉️
Here's the propaganda Which parents and even SLP professionals deal with routinely
1. Early intervention is key. Don't ever wait and watch your child's developmental delays just to give a chance.

2. You can model the desired word to your child but never ever start the battle of "Say this then I'll give you this". It can make your child irritable with no help in Speech.

3. NEVER EVER STOP YOUR CHILD FROM REPEATING YOUR WORDS. I repeat NEVERRRR!! Your child is repeating your words to acquire these for future references and use

4. Always talking, talking and talking will not work until unless you are creating opportunities for your child to speak.

5. Never ever stop any way of your child's communication may it be gestures or even just a gaze. Always validate your child's efforts even the micro one.

Never fall for these propagandas, and do let me know if you have any query regarding your child's speech and language development.

Gestalt Language Therapy Interventions 🤝
1. Use Context based language, instead of asking multiple questions , model context based phrases.
Do you want to sleep? ❌
Let's sleep/ let's go to sleep✅
2. Follow child's lead, don't push your child (gestalt language processor) to say particular or grammatical correct statements. Rather encourage their communication by supporting their phrases and model grammatical correct statements in later opportunities.
3. Encourage communication rather than memorization
4. Incorporate Play in your home based activities. And use statements following your child's interests and preferred language structures (single words, phrases, sentences, rhymes)
5. Incorporate real life context during your home based therapy sessions like going to sleep, (model language using child's pronouns), eating food, going to market etc.
