Today, I received this heartfelt note from a patient expressing gratitude for the care, patience, kindness and medical expertise they experienced during their treatment.

As surgeons, we focus on making the right decisions, performing the procedure safely, and helping our patients through what is often one of the most difficult periods of their lives. But a simple “Thank you” from a patient reminds us why we chose this profession in the first place.

These words are deeply appreciated and serve as a reminder that beyond the disease and the operation, there is always a person who needs reassurance, compassion and trust.
