When fluid can’t flow normally, the pressure can build — and knowing the signs matters. 🧠
Obstructive hydrocephalus happens when the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) becomes blocked, causing fluid to build up inside the brain’s ventricles.
Treatment depends on the cause and may include neurosurgical procedures such as a shunt or endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) to restore or redirect CSF flow.
But treatment doesn’t always end with the procedure.
If difficulties with movement, balance, coordination, posture, or other neurological functions remain, rehabilitation may become an important part of recovery and functional improvement.
At Rehab Care, our therapists work with individuals according to their specific functional needs, helping them work toward greater mobility, control, and independence.
Awareness can lead to earlier recognition. The right medical care can address the condition. And rehabilitation can help rebuild function.
