At Lahore Care Hospital (LCH), patient safety remains our highest priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to emergency preparedness and quality healthcare, a comprehensive staff training session was conducted to introduce and reinforce the 10 Hospital Emergency Codes that are being implemented across the hospital.
The training brought together members of the nursing, clinical, administrative, and support services teams to ensure that every staff member understands their role during critical situations. Through interactive discussions, presentations, and real-life scenarios, participants were familiarized with the purpose, activation process, and response protocols for each emergency code.
The Emergency Code System has been developed to provide a clear, standardized, and rapid method of communication during emergencies, enabling staff to respond efficiently while minimizing confusion and delays.
The codes covered during the session included:
🔵 Code Blue – Medical Emergency
🔴 Code Red – Fire Emergency
🟡 Code Yellow – Internal Disaster/Mass Casualty Incident
🟠 Code Orange – Hazardous Material Spill
🟢 Code Green – Evacuation Emergency
⚫ Code Black – Security Threat/Bomb Threat
🟣 Code Purple – Violent or Aggressive Person
⚪ Code White – Infant/Child Abduction
🟤 Code Brown – Utility Failure
🌸 Code Pink – Pediatric Medical Emergency
The session emphasized the importance of early recognition, effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to established protocols. Staff members actively participated in discussions and demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and fellow healthcare workers.
Lahore Care Hospital will continue conducting regular training sessions, mock drills, and refresher courses to ensure that all employees remain prepared to respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations.
Together, preparedness saves lives.
