𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛
Lahore: Secretary, Health and Population Department, Punjab, Ms Nadia Saquib, chaired a meeting at the Health and Population Department to discuss measures for strengthening primary healthcare across the province.
The meeting was attended by a delegation from the British High Commission, led by Mr Ben Warrington, Head of the British High Commission Lahore Office, and Dr Bilal Zafar, Health Team Lead, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), British High Commission Pakistan. Capt. (R) Dr Usman Ali Khan, Program Director, Punjab Family Planning Program (PFPP), Dr Farrukh Amin, Additional Program Director, Punjab Family Planning Program (PFPP), and other officials of the Health and Population Department were also present.
During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities to enhance collaboration for strengthening primary healthcare in Punjab. Discussions focused on improving the quality and accessibility of primary healthcare services, strengthening community-based healthcare interventions, enhancing health system performance, and promoting evidence-based policy and programme implementation to improve health outcomes across the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Nadia Saquib appreciated the continued support of the British High Commission and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in advancing Punjab's health sector. She reaffirmed Punjab's commitment to strengthening primary healthcare through strategic partnerships and sustainable reforms.
Mr Ben Warrington reaffirmed the British High Commission's commitment to supporting Punjab's efforts to strengthen primary healthcare and improve the delivery of quality health services. Dr Bilal Zafar highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to build resilient and people-centred primary healthcare systems in Punjab.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation between Punjab and the British High Commission to improve healthcare services and health outcomes for the people of the province.
