📍 CPSP MCPS Inspection Visit | Lahore General Hospital & PGMI

Lahore General Hospital and Postgraduate Medical Institute had the honour of hosting the inspection team from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for the MCPS accreditation and training facilities assessment.

The visit commenced with an opening session in the Committee Room chaired by Worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, where a brief introduction to the institution and participating departments was presented.

The inspection covered multiple specialties, including Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Radiology. Faculty members and departmental teams accompanied the CPSP inspectors during their visits to the respective departments.

The inspection team reviewed clinical and teaching facilities, supervisors’ involvement, documentation and case records, equipment and infrastructure, library and online learning resources, maintenance standards, and overall postgraduate training environments.

The visit reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to excellence in postgraduate medical education, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in training standards and patient care.

House Officers Orientation session 2026| PGMI/AMC/LGH

A new chapter begins. Today, Lahore General Hospital welcomed its newly inducted House Officers through an orientation session aimed at preparing them for a journey of clinical excellence, professionalism, and compassionate patient care.

Worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal emphasized that House Job is the foundation of a doctor's professional career, where knowledge, discipline, teamwork, ethical conduct, and empathy towards patients must go hand in hand.

The Blood Donation Society of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College observed World Blood Donor Day with an awareness walk at PGMI, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, and Lahore General Hospital to promote voluntary blood donation and highlight its lifesaving impact.

🦟 World Dengue Day 2026 | PGMI / AMC / LGH

In observance of World Dengue Day 2026, Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) organized a comprehensive Dengue Awareness Walk and Awareness Seminar to reinforce the message that dengue prevention begins with collective responsibility and community action.

The activities were conducted in line with the directions of the Government of Punjab and the Dengue Expert Advisory Group (DEAG) to promote awareness, strengthen preventive measures, and encourage active participation in eliminating mosquito breeding sites.

The awareness walk was led by senior faculty members, healthcare professionals, students, and administrative staff, emphasizing the importance of environmental cleanliness, elimination of stagnant water, and adherence to dengue preventive practices.

Prof. Dr. Nudrat Sohail, Head of the Department of Gynaecology, addressed the participants and highlighted that dengue is a preventable disease when communities remain vigilant, maintain cleanliness, and actively eliminate mosquito breeding sources. She stressed that awareness, timely action, and public participation are the strongest tools against dengue transmission.

During the seminar, Prof. Dr. Faryal Hussain, Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital, delivered an important public health message, urging citizens to inspect their homes and workplaces regularly, ensure proper water storage management, and adopt preventive behaviors to protect themselves and their families from dengue.

Dr. Syed Jaffar Hussain Shah, Additional Medical Superintendent (Administration), also participated in the activities and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting a safe, healthy, and dengue-free environment.

PGMI/AMC/LGH remains steadfast in supporting Punjab’s dengue prevention efforts through awareness campaigns, community engagement, and sustained preventive measures.
