Influenza cases are surging across Punjab, overwhelming public hospitals, particularly in Lahore, where doctors report that nearly every second patient is arriving with flu and fever.

Hospital administrations say a severe shortage of testing kits has hampered diagnosis, though treatment is continuing. Services and Mayo hospitals confirmed kits are extremely limited.

Health officials said more than 10,000 flu and fever cases were reported in public hospitals across Punjab in a single day, with children and the elderly most affected amid worsening smog conditions.
