Hydration in Pregnancy: It’s Not Just About Drinking Water 💧

Pregnancy increases your body’s demand for fluids more than you think. You’re not just hydrating yourself, you’re supporting your baby, placenta, and increased blood volume.

Why hydration matters:
•Helps form amniotic fluid
•Prevents constipation & UTIs
•Reduces risk of preterm contractions
•Supports circulation & nutrient delivery
•Helps manage swelling and fatigue

How much should you drink?
👉 Around 2.3–3 liters/day (8–12 glasses), but it varies with weather, activity, and trimester.

Signs you’re not drinking enough:
•Dark yellow urine
•Dizziness or headaches
•Dry lips/skin
•Feeling unusually tired

Pro tips:
•Sip throughout the day (don’t chug all at once)
•Add lemon, mint, or fruit if plain water feels boring
•Include fluids like coconut water, milk, soups
•Increase intake in hot weather (especially in Pakistan’s heat)

Important:
Severe dehydration can trigger uterine contractions, so don’t ignore it.

Be kind to yourself.
You’re not just getting through the day, you’re growing a whole life. It’s okay to rest more, to move slower, to not have everything figured out.
Nourish your body, listen to it, and give yourself the same gentleness you’d give your baby.
You’re doing more than enough. 🤍

Eat your nourishment, not just your cravings 🤍

Pregnancy is beautiful… but let’s be real, cravings can be LOUD. 🍟🍰And while it’s okay to enjoy them sometimes, your baby isn’t built on cravings…your baby is built on nutrition.

Every bite you take is either:✨ building your baby’s brain✨ supporting their growth✨ strengthening your own body

So before you reach for that random craving, pause and ask:“Is this nourishing me… or just satisfying a moment?”

Choose foods that love you back:🥑 Healthy fats for brain development🥚 Protein for growth🥬 Iron for strength🍎 Vitamins for immunity

You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be mindful.

Cravings will pass…but the nourishment you give your body now will stay with your baby forever 💛

🌸 New Moms, Listen Up! 🌸
Bringing your baby home is magical, but your health matters too! 💖

After delivery, your body goes through huge changes. Some signs are NOT normal and need immediate attention. Don’t ignore these postpartum red flags:

🚨 Seek help immediately if you notice:
•Heavy bleeding soaking more than one pad an hour or passing large clots
•Severe abdominal pain that doesn’t get better with rest or medicine
•High fever (≥38°C / 100.4°F) or chills
•Severe headache, vision changes, or swelling in face/hands
•Pain, redness, or swelling in legs (could signal blood clots)
•Breathing difficulties or chest pain

Remember, asking for help is strength, not weakness! ❤️

💡 Tip: Keep your partner, family, or a friend in the loop . If you notice anything unusual and call your doctor immediately.

You and your baby deserve a safe, healthy postpartum journey. Don’t wait—trust your instincts! 🌼
