𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞. 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞!
The Department of Child Health, Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), in collaboration with the Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, successfully organized the PPA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Paediatric Rheumatology Symposium on 9th July 2026, bringing together leading national and international experts to promote excellence in pediatric healthcare.
The symposium commenced with a warm welcome address by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐢, Paediatrics Department - Khyber Teaching Hospital, who highlighted the importance of continuous medical education, academic collaboration, and evidence-based practice in improving child health services.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝, Ex-Chairman, Department of Paediatrics, MTI Khyber Teaching Hospital, Ex-Medical/Hospital Director, MTI KTH, and Ex-President, Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also addressed the gathering.
He conveyed his warm regards and appreciation to the KTH team and faculty members, sharing reflections from his vast clinical experience.
He emphasized the value of mentorship, lifelong learning, teamwork, and continued academic engagement in strengthening pediatric healthcare services.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡, President, Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Consultant Paediatrician, and Head of the Department of Paediatrics, Molvi Ameer Shah Women & Children Hospital, Peshawar.
𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐫, 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫 also graced the occasion with their presence.
The scientific sessions were delivered by distinguished faculty members, including 𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧 (Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist, Shifa International Hospitals Ltd. Islamabad, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐎𝐯𝐠𝐮 𝐊𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 (Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatologist, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London), and 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐪 Khyber Medical College & Khyber Teaching Hospital - MTI KTH Peshawar.
Their insightful presentations covered recent advances in pediatric rheumatology, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, recurrent fever syndromes, respiratory tract infections, and other challenging pediatric disorders, providing participants with valuable evidence-based clinical updates.
The symposium was organized under the dedicated leadership and coordinated efforts of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐣𝐚𝐳 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐡 𝐔𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, 𝐃𝐧.
