نجی اسپتالوں میں ٹرینی ڈاکٹروں کو سرکاری اسپتالوں کے برابر تنخواہ دینے کا مطالبہ

پاکستان میڈیکل ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر پروفیسر شاہد ملک نے وزیراعظم پاکستان، صدر کالج آف فزیشنز اینڈ سرجنز پاکستان (CPSP) اور صدر پاکستان میڈیکل اینڈ ڈینٹل کونسل (PMDC) سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ نجی میڈیکل کالجز اور ان سے منسلک اسپتالوں میں کام کرنے والے ٹرینی ڈاکٹروں، ہاؤس آفیسرز اور ہاؤس جاب کرنے والے ڈاکٹروں کو سرکاری اسپتالوں کے مساوی تنخواہ اور بنیادی سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں۔

پروفیسر شاہد ملک نے کہا کہ متعدد نجی میڈیکل کالجز اور ان کے تدریسی اسپتال نوجوان ڈاکٹروں سے طویل اوقات کار میں خدمات تو لے رہے ہیں، مگر انہیں نہایت کم معاوضہ دیا جا رہا ہے یا بعض جگہوں پر بغیر تنخواہ کام کروایا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ صورتحال نہ صرف نوجوان ڈاکٹروں کے ساتھ ناانصافی ہے بلکہ طبی تعلیم اور مریضوں کی نگہداشت کے معیار پر بھی منفی اثر ڈالتی ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ نجی میڈیکل کالجز ایک ایم بی بی ایس طالب علم سے فیسوں کی مد میں لاکھوں اور بعض صورتوں میں کروڑوں روپے وصول کرتے ہیں، لیکن اس کے باوجود ان کے ساتھ منسلک اسپتالوں میں ہاؤس آفیسرز اور ٹرینی ڈاکٹروں کو مناسب تنخواہ، انشورنس، رہائش، کھانے اور دیگر بنیادی سہولیات فراہم نہیں کی جاتیں۔ یہ ایک ایسا استحصالی نظام ہے جس کا فوری خاتمہ ضروری ہے۔

پاکستان میڈیکل ایسوسی ایشن نے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ PMDC اور CPSP ان تمام نجی میڈیکل کالجز اور ٹریننگ اداروں کا فوری آڈٹ کریں جو ڈاکٹروں کو مقررہ معیار کے مطابق تنخواہ نہیں دے رہے یا بلا معاوضہ کام کروا رہے ہیں۔ ایسے اداروں کی منظوری، سیٹوں میں اضافہ، نئی رجسٹریشن اور MBBS داخلوں پر پابندی عائد کی جائے، تاوقتیکہ وہ ٹرینی ڈاکٹروں کو سرکاری اسپتالوں کے برابر تنخواہ اور قانونی حقوق فراہم کرنے کا واضح نظام نافذ نہ کر دیں۔

پروفیسر شاہد ملک نے وزیراعظم پاکستان سے اپیل کی کہ اس معاملے کا فوری نوٹس لیا جائے اور ملک بھر کے نجی میڈیکل کالجز و تدریسی اسپتالوں کے لیے ایک یکساں پالیسی نافذ کی جائے، جس کے تحت ہاؤس جاب اور پوسٹ گریجویٹ ٹریننگ کرنے والے تمام ڈاکٹروں کو باعزت، محفوظ اور مناسب معاوضے کے ساتھ کام کرنے کا حق دیا جائے۔

A recent study has demonstrated that continuous exposure to rose essential oil through inhalation can lead to measurable increases in gray matter volume in the human brain.

In this randomized controlled intervention, 50 healthy women participated: 28 in the experimental group applied rose essential oil to their clothing daily for one month, while 22 in the control group used plain water. Before and after the period, researchers used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess changes in brain structure. The results indicated a significant increase in gray matter volume (GMV) across the whole brain, with a particularly notable effect in the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC)—a region involved in memory processing, self-referential thinking, and emotional regulation. No significant changes occurred in areas like the amygdala or orbitofrontal cortex.

The olfactory pathway likely explains this effect: aromatic compounds from the rose oil travel directly to the limbic system, providing sustained stimulation that may promote neuroplasticity and help counteract age-related brain atrophy. The authors suggest this could have implications for dementia prevention, as the PCC is among the regions affected early in conditions like Alzheimer's disease.

This appears to be the first evidence that prolonged scent inhalation can induce structural changes in the adult human brain.
