📌Case Study: Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes hyperthyroidism. In this condition, antibodies stimulate the thyroid gland to produce excessive amounts of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4). It commonly causes symptoms such as weight loss, rapid heartbeat, heat intolerance, anxiety, and tremors. A characteristic feature is exophthalmos (bulging eyes), and some patients may develop enlarged thyroid (goiter).

📌Case Study: Hashimoto thyroiditis is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the thyroid gland, causing gradual destruction of thyroid tissue. It is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in iodine-sufficient areas. It is more common in women and may present with fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, constipation, dry skin, and goiter. Diagnosis is mainly based on elevated TSH, low free T4 (when hypothyroid), and positive anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) antibodies.

📌Case Study: Goiter is an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland located in the front of the neck. It most commonly occurs due to iodine deficiency, but it can also result from hormonal imbalances such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, autoimmune diseases, or nodular growths in the thyroid. Goiter may or may not affect thyroid hormone levels and can present as visible neck swelling, difficulty swallowing, or breathing in severe cases.

📌Case Study: Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. These hormones are important for controlling metabolism, energy levels, growth, and body temperature. When their levels are low, body functions slow down, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, dry skin, constipation, and slow heart rate.

📌Case Study: Diabetes Insipidus is a rare condition in which the body is unable to properly regulate fluid balance, leading to excessive urination and intense thirst. It occurs due to a problem with the hormone vasopressin (ADH) or the kidneys’ response to it. Unlike diabetes mellitus, it is not related to blood sugar levels.

📌Case Study: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease in which the body cannot properly control blood sugar (glucose) levels. This happens because the body either does not produce enough insulin or cannot use insulin effectively. As a result, glucose builds up in the blood and may lead to complications affecting the heart, kidneys, eyes, nerves, and blood vessels if not properly managed.
