Participated in the PM Hepatitis Elimination Programme Meeting

Honoured to participate in the high-level meeting on the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis Elimination Programme held at the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for National Health Services, Syed Mustafa Kamal.

The meeting focused on accelerating Pakistan’s efforts towards the elimination of Hepatitis C through strengthened screening, timely diagnosis, uninterrupted treatment, enhanced surveillance, and coordinated implementation across healthcare institutions.

As Executive Director, Capital Hospital Islamabad, I reaffirmed our institution’s commitment to supporting this national initiative by expanding hepatitis screening services, ensuring quality patient care, and contributing towards the goal of a Hepatitis-Free Pakistan.

Together, through collaboration and sustained commitment, we can significantly reduce the burden of viral hepatitis and improve the health of our nation.

It was a great privilege and honor to conduct an Advanced Bariatric Surgery Workshop at Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, where I demonstrated Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Sleeve Plus Surgery to postgraduate trainees and young surgeons.

The workshop was highly academic, interactive, and focused on sharing practical surgical techniques, decision-making, and the latest advances in metabolic and bariatric surgery. It was encouraging to see the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants toward learning advanced minimally invasive procedures.

I extend my sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Usman Qureshi, HOD Surgical Unit-I, for organizing such an excellent workshop, and to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar, Vice Chancellor RMU, for his visionary leadership and continued support of surgical education and training.

This event was particularly meaningful for me as it represented a wonderful collaboration with my alma mater, Rawalpindi Medical University/Holy Family Hospital, the institution where my surgical journey began. Returning to teach and train at the place that laid the foundation of my career was both humbling and rewarding.

Together, we continue to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice, ensuring better outcomes for our patients through education, innovation, and collaboration.

Honored to contribute to surgical education and training.

I am pleased to participate as a Master Trainer in the 7th Training Session on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Workshop on Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery, organized by the Department of Surgery, Unit-I, Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi Medical University.

Looking forward to sharing knowledge, skills, and recent advances in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery with the next generation of surgeons.
