A 12-year-old child diagnosed with a moderate Secundum Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) successfully underwent Transcatheter ASD Device Closure at Luqman International Hospital.

I am Dr. Abubakar Sadiq, a Gold Medalist MBBS graduate and a consultant Pediatric Cardiologist with FCPS qualifications in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive cardiac care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart diseases.

💙 ایک ننھی جان، ایک نئی امید، ایک مضبوط دھڑکن! 💙

یہ 4 سالہ بچہ دل کی ایک پیدائشی بیماری (PDA - Patent Ductus Arteriosus) کے ساتھ زندگی گزار رہا تھا۔ بیماری کی تشخیص نسبتاً دیر سے ہوئی اور اس کے نتیجے میں پھیپھڑوں کا پریشر (شدید پلمونری ہائپرٹینشن) خطرناک حد تک بڑھ چکا تھا۔

والدین کے لیے یہ وقت پریشانی، بے چینی اور دعاؤں سے بھرپور تھا۔ لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ کے فضل و کرم سے مکمل جانچ پڑتال کے بعد اس بچے کا PDA ڈیوائس کلوزر کامیابی سے انجام دیا گیا، جس سے اس کے دل پر بوجھ کم ہوا اور ایک صحت مند مستقبل کی امید روشن ہوئی۔

When this 4-year-old child first arrived, the situation was far from simple. A large hole in the heart's blood vessel (Patent Ductus Arteriosus - PDA) had gone undetected for years, leading to severe pulmonary hypertension, a serious condition that can threaten a child's future and quality of life.

For the parents, it was a journey filled with worry, uncertainty, and countless prayers.

After detailed evaluation, we decided to proceed with a catheter-based PDA device closure. Despite the challenges associated with late presentation and high lung pressures, the procedure was successfully performed, giving this young child a chance at a healthier and brighter future.

Moments like these remind us why early diagnosis of congenital heart disease is so important—and why every child deserves access to timely cardiac care.

Alhamdulillah, another little heart is now beating stronger. ❤️

5 سالہ بہادر بچی، جس کے دل میں درمیانے سائز کا PDA تھا، کا کامیاب Transcatheter PDA Device Closure جدید Single Venous Access Technique کے ذریعے کیا گیا، جس میں روایتی شریان (Arterial) راستہ استعمال نہیں کیا گیا۔

اس جدید طریقۂ علاج سے شریان کو نقصان، نبض ختم ہونے، Groin Hematoma، زیادہ خون ضائع ہونے اور زیادہ Contrast استعمال ہونے کے خطرات کم ہو گئے، جس سے یہ پروسیجر بچے کے لیے زیادہ محفوظ اور کم تکلیف دہ ثابت ہوا۔

This innovative approach helped minimize the risk of arterial injury, pulse loss, groin hematoma, excessive blood loss, and reduced contrast exposure, making the procedure safer and less traumatic for the child.
