Myofascial unwinding is often misunderstood.
It's not a technique where the therapist moves the client through predetermined patterns, and it's not simply "stretching fascia."
Instead, it's a process that emerges when the body has enough safety and freedom to reorganize movement on its own.
As protective muscle activity decreases and the nervous system becomes more regulated, spontaneous movements may appear. These movements help redistribute tension, improve coordination, and restore more efficient movement patterns throughout the fascial network.
Rather than forcing change, the practitioner creates the conditions in which the body can find it.
The body often knows where it wants to go, our role is learning how to listen.
Have you ever experienced spontaneous movement during bodywork or breathwork?
