A mental health crisis doesn’t always look like someone completely falling apart.
Sometimes, the warning signs are quieter: withdrawing from loved ones, sudden mood or personality changes, risky behavior, severe agitation, paranoia, hopelessness, or struggling to manage basic daily needs. 🧠
Knowing what to look for can help you recognize when someone needs more than reassurance and when immediate support may be necessary.
During a crisis, safety comes first. But once someone is stabilized, it’s also important to understand what contributed to the crisis in the first place, whether that includes trauma, chronic stress, sleep deprivation, substance use, medical conditions, hormonal changes, or an underlying mental health condition.
Early intervention can make a difference.
