🍝 Baby-Friendly Beef Bolognese (Makes 6–8 baby portions)
Ingredients
* 500g lean beef mince (5% fat)
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* 1 small onion, finely diced
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed (optional)
* 1 carrot, grated
* 1 courgette, grated
* 1 red pepper, finely diced
* 400g tin chopped tomatoes (no added salt)
* 2 tbsp tomato purée
* 100ml water
* 1 tsp dried oregano
* 1 tsp dried basil
Method
1. Heat the olive oil and gently soften the onion for 3–4 minutes.
2. Add the garlic (if using) for 1 minute.
3. Add the beef mince and cook until browned, breaking it up well.
4. Stir in the grated carrot, courgette and red pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
5. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, water and herbs.
6. Simmer gently for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally until thick and the vegetables are very soft.
Serve with
* Mashed potato
* Mini pasta shapes
* Spaghetti (cut into shorter lengths for younger babies)
* Rice
* Polenta
For younger babies (around 6–8 months)
Blend or pulse the sauce to a smoother consistency if needed before serving.

Baby French Toast 🍞
Ingredients
* 1 slice wholemeal bread (or sourdough)
* 1 egg
* 30ml whole milk (or formula if preferred)
* ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
* ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Method
1. Whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon and vanilla.
2. Cut the bread into fingers or triangles.
3. Dip each piece into the egg mixture until coated.
4. Cook in a lightly buttered or oiled non-stick pan over a medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
5. Allow to cool before serving.
Serve with:
* Mashed raspberries or strawberries
* Banana slices
* Greek yoghurt for dipping
* Nut butter spread thinly (if already introduced)
* Stewed apple or pear
* A sprinkle of ground flaxseed or chia seeds
