This photo sums up what our Tavistock Relationships Couple Therapy Summer School is really about!
Of course, it's a place to learn from leading clinicians, develop your practice and deepen your psychoanalytic thinking. But it's also about something that's much harder to put into words: connection.
Being a psychotherapist, counsellor or mental health professional can sometimes feel like a lonely profession. Summer School creates a space where people can come together, share their clinical experiences, talk openly about the challenges they're facing, learn from one another and build relationships with colleagues who truly understand the work.
Our clinical discussion groups are where so much of that happens. Small groups, thoughtful conversations and the opportunity to reflect together create an environment where genuine professional and personal connections can grow.
This was taken at the end of the week with Liz Hamlin's clinical discussion group. Before everyone headed home, they wanted one last selfie together to remember the week and the friendships they'd made.
For us, that's exactly why our Summer School exists. Not just to teach, but to bring people together, create a community and remind each other that none of us has to do this work alone.
