Today, 3rd of September, was a special day!
Prof. Rui Reis was officially inducted (after reelection) as President of I3Bs - Research Institute on Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics for 4 more years from 2026 to 2030.
Together with the reelection of the President, the Directors of I3Bs subunits enter into service (also reelected), namely Prof. Nuno Neves for 3B's Research Group and Dr. Emanuel Fernandes for 3B's Innovation and Services.
The presidency team includes 3 Vice-Presidents, Prof. Natália Alves, Dr. Miguel Oliveira and Dr. Vitor Correlo!
Congratulations to all and success for the new mandate!

🧫Mais uma Semana de Verão no Campus no 3B's Research Group, do Instituto I3Bs da Universidade do Minho terminou hoje!
Foi muito bom poder partilhar experiências, conhecimento e dinâmicas com os alunos e esperamos que tenha sido uma experiência marcante e enriquecedora para cada um que escolheu visitar-nos.
Foi também uma semana de aprendizagem e partilha que permite aos nossos investigadores um contacto com os mais jovens, talvez futuros cientistas e colegas de laboratório, e assim ter uma perceção de como a ciência é vista pelas gerações mais novas, tentando motivá-las para o caminho da investigação no seu percurso profissional.
Obrigado a todos os que colaboraram para tornar esta semana possível e esperamos ver estes estudantes um dia a fazer o doutoramento connosco! Até breve e a nossa casa estará sempre aberta para a vossa curiosidade! 🧡

Extremely proud of the Miguel Oliveira, Principal Researcher of 3B's Research Group and Vice-President of I3Bs, that was awarded the Medal of Honor from Freguesia de Caldelas, Guimarães, his home town.

This is an honour that distinguishes Miguel Oliveira's accomplishments and career!

What a great opportunity to have, in the same place, all the experts and research groups in the field of Tissue Enginnering and Regenerative Medicine, discussing science together!
Great experience for 3B's Research Group team, first time for some, one more time for others and everything colluding in exchange of experience and excitment!

Last week 3B's Research Group, represented by Dr. Ricardo Pires and Prof. Rui L. Reis, hosted SECRET Annual Symposium, Workshop & Mid Term Review Meeting!
Under the scope of the foreseen activities of this Marie Curie Doctoral Network project, it was a great opportunity to gather all DN students already recruited through the project and collectively discuss the project status, developments and next steps, with the precious help and supervision of European Commission Project Officer and under the guidance of the project Coordinator, Dr. Ornella Parolini from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), Italy.
Special thanks to Innovation Acta Srl (INN-ACTA) for the help with all the logistics and organization of the meeting.
