Can AI help patients stay on track with their treatment?

According to the World Economic Forum, Singapore is exploring how AI can support healthcare beyond the hospital, helping clinicians personalize care while giving patients greater support in managing their health.

Project ENTenna combines patient-reported symptoms and health data with AI analytics to support personalized treatment plans and reduce unnecessary hospital visits.

AI-powered symptom trackers, chatbots, and behavioral nudges used as part of the program also have the potential to improve medication adherence and engagement by up to 25%, supporting patients in managing their health at home.

By combining AI-powered tools with clinical oversight, Singapore’s approach demonstrates how technology can support patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems while keeping people at the center of care.

هل يمكن للذكاء الاصطناعي مساعدةُ المرضى على الالتزام بخطط علاجهم؟

وفقاً لمنتدى الاقتصاد العالمي، تستكشف سنغافورة آفاقَ تسخير الذكاء الاصطناعي لدعم الرعاية الصحية خارج أروقة المستشفيات؛ بما يُمكّن الأطباءَ من تخصيص الرعاية، ويزود المرضى بمساندة أكبر لإدارة وضعهم الصحي.

يجمع مشروع "ENTenna" بين الأعراض التي يبلغ عنها المرضى والبيانات الصحية وتحليلات الذكاء الاصطناعي، مما يساعد الأطباء على تصميم علاجات مخصصة والحد من الزيارات غير الضرورية للمستشفيات.

كما أن أدوات تتبع الأعراض والمحادثة الآلية والتنبيهات السلوكية المدعومة بالذكاء الاصطناعي، والمستخدمة ضمن هذا البرنامج، لديها القدرة على تحسين الالتزام بالعلاج ومستوى التفاعل بنسبة تصل إلى 25%، ما يُعزّز قدرة المرضى على إدارة حالتهم الصحية من منازلهم.

ومن خلال الجمع بين الأدوات المدعومة بالذكاء الاصطناعي والإشراف الطبي، تُظهر التجربة السنغافورية كيف يمكن للتكنولوجيا أن تدعم المرضى والأطباء والأنظمة الصحية، مع إبقاء الإنسان في صميم الرعاية الصحية.

ويُسلط "ويش"، وهو مبادرة من مؤسسة قطر، الضوءَ على الابتكارات العالمية التي تُسهم في إعادة تشكيل مستقبل الرعاية الصحية وبناء مجتمعات أكثر صحة.

Healthcare systems in conflict-affected regions face growing threats. Attacks on hospitals, supply chain disruptions, and under-resourced health workers put communities at risk.

ُThis World Humanitarian Day, Dr. Amani Khalifa, President of the Sudanese Doctors Association in Qatar; Dr. Abed Alra'oof Saleem, Technical Affairs Director at the Ministry of Health in Palestine; Dr. Mohamad Habsah, Senior Health Specialist at the الهلال الاحمر القطري Qatar Red Crescent; Andrew Leather, Director of the King’s Centre for Global Health and Health Partnerships; and Dr. Rayana Bou-Haka, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Qatar, share the initiatives and measures being taken to support frontline health workers, protect communities, and respond to attacks on health.

These frontline experiences reflect the global trends highlighted in WISH and WHO’s 2024 report, ‘In the Line of Fire.' Through WISH’s platform, health workers and experts connect with policymakers, advocates, and international partners to translate these insights into concrete action.

What if the future of elder care relies on human robot collaboration?

Facing a projected shortfall of 380,000 specialized caregivers, Japan is leading the way in integrating AI and robotics into nursing care. From Waseda University's AIREC humanoid robot, designed to assist with tasks such as gently repositioning patients, to more than $45 million in government investment since 2015, technology is helping support caregivers and improve quality of care.

With $50 million allocated to equip 5,000 care facilities in fiscal year 2016, Japan's approach demonstrates how robotics can complement human caregivers while preserving dignity for aging populations.

As countries around the world face similar demographic shifts, Japan’s experience offers a scalable model for the future of elder care.

تقود اليابان، التي تواجه نقصًا متوقعًا بنحو 380 ألف مزود للرعاية، مسيرة دمج الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات في رعاية كبار القدر. وتُساهم التكنولوجيا المتمثلة في روبوت AIREC الإنساني الذي صُمم لتغيير وضعية المرضى، والاستثمار الحكومي البالغ 45 مليون دولار أمريكي منذ عام 2015 في دعم مزودي الرعاية وتعزيز جودتها.

According to the United Nations, 43% of youth surveyed rated their general mental health as poor or fair, while 40% rated how they were coping with life as poor or fair.

These findings highlight the importance of addressing the factors that shape young people’s mental health and well-being.

On , WISH, an initiative of Qatar Foundation , recognizes the important role young people play in shaping healthier societies. Supporting youth mental health goes beyond access to healthcare. It also means creating environments where young people feel heard, supported, included, and able to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

يبدأ المستقبل الصحيّ للشباب حين يلمسون أن أصواتهم مسموعة، وأنهم يحظون بالدعم والانتماء.

43٪ من الشباب المشاركين في استطلاع رأي للأمم المتحدة وصَفوا حالتهم النفسية العامة بأنها سيئة أو متوسطة؛ في حين رأى 40% منهم أن قدرتهم على التكيف مع مقتضيات الحياة اليومية تقع ضمن النطاق نفسه.

تكشف هذه النتائج ضرورة معالجة العوامل التي تُشكّل الصحة النفسية للشباب وتحدد مسار رفاههم.
