🏆 “YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE.” ❤️🩺
This cup was given to me along with my Best Charge Nurse Award in 2025 in Qatar. Every time I read these words, I remember the dedication, sacrifices, and genuine efforts I gave to my team and the unit I served.
But life in Qatar taught me a painful lesson: sometimes, you can be a good leader, a dedicated nurse, and a valuable asset to your facility, yet still find yourself under the wrong BOSS.
And sometimes, the saddest part is seeing other dedicated staff lose their jobs, too, despite the contributions they could still offer to the unit and the facility.
Because the truth is, a good employee can struggle under the wrong boss, and a hardworking team can suffer under the wrong leadership. Not every leader knows how to recognize potential, appreciate loyalty, or protect the people who genuinely contribute.
Maybe what others say is true: “Minsan, wala tayo sa maling propesyon—nasa maling lugar lang tayo, at nasa ilalim ng maling pamumuno.”
But let me be clear: THIS WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME, AND IT WILL NEVER DEFINE ME.
This cup reminds me that I made a difference. My award reminds me that my hard work was recognized. And neither can be erased by a disappointing experience or by the decision of one boss.
To every nurse and employee who has experienced being undervalued, overlooked, or displaced by leadership decisions, don't let the wrong boss convince you that you are the wrong person.
You may have worked under the wrong boss, but that doesn't mean you are not meant to be a great leader yourself.
One day, we will find ourselves in a place where our contributions matter, our dedication is appreciated, and our leadership is welcomed.
I may have lost a position, but I have not lost my skills, my values, my experience, or my purpose.
The wrong boss may close a door, but no boss has the power to erase what you have accomplished or determine what you can become.
Still standing. Still believing. Still ready to make a difference. ❤️💪
