Years of Culture is launching a community winter sports programme in Doha from May 24 to 26, bringing curling, ice hockey, skating, and short-track skating to Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena as summer temperatures begin to rise. Held in collaboration with the Qatar Winter Sports Committee as part of the Qatar–Canada–Mexico 2026 Year of Culture, the programme is designed to introduce winter sports to the public in an accessible and welcoming setting while building connections among Canadian, Qatari, and expat communities in Doha. Registration and attendance will be open at the venue on a first-come, first-served basis, with rotating slots available throughout the sessions.
