Personal Growth vs. Organizational Growth: Are They Really That Different?
We often assume that personal development and organizational development are entirely separate domains, requiring distinct skill sets. However, I propose the following hypothesis: if we view an individual as a system composed of various parts, each with specific roles and functions, we can draw a parallel to an organization, which consists of different individuals fulfilling distinct roles.
Just as each part of the human body possesses or can develop the necessary resources to meet both its own needs and those of the entire system, individuals within an organization also have—or can cultivate—the resources needed to fulfill their own needs while contributing to the organization's success. However, unlocking and utilizing these resources effectively requires skill development. In both cases, growth depends on building the right capabilities to enhance overall functioning and resilience.
