LOVE SHOULD NEVER REQUIRE YOU TO BETRAY YOURSELF. 🤎
Sometimes, we become so focused on making a relationship work that we forget to ask ourselves a more important question: What is this relationship costing me emotionally?
We start compromising on the things that matter, accepting less than we need, explaining away behaviors that hurt us, and waiting for someone to become the partner we imagined they could be.
But love is not measured by how much you can endure.
It is reflected in the respect you receive, the freedom you feel to be yourself, the consistency of someone’s actions, and the peace you experience when you are together.
You shouldn’t have to compete for attention, finance someone’s irresponsibility, silence your truth, or make yourself smaller to protect another person’s ego.
A healthy relationship doesn’t ask you to abandon yourself. It invites you to grow without losing who you are.
Choose the connection where your voice is heard, your ambitions are encouraged, your boundaries are respected, and affection doesn’t leave you constantly guessing.
Because the goal isn’t simply to be loved by someone.
It’s to be loved without losing yourself in the process. 🤍
Have you ever mistaken sacrificing yourself for someone as proof of love?
