The Center hosts every year laparoscopic training courses for basic and advanced techniques.

Surgical Training Institute located in Ponderas Academic Hospital, organizes educational activities, workshop, symposiums and clinical immersions addressed to both Romanian and foreign surgeons who are willing to develop their skills into minimal access a Surgical Training Institute, located in Ponderas Academic Hospital, organizes educational activities, courses, symposiums and clinical immersion

s addressed to both Romanian and foreign surgeons who are willing to develop their skills into minimal access and video-assisted techniques. These events are organized in a technically up-to-date equipped conference room were lectures and conferences are provided by invited speakers. Live surgery HD is also transmitted from the Center OR or from any OR worldwide via video-conference systems. Hands-on training on live anesthetized tissue is offered during every course in a experimental lab with 9 complete tables for any endoscopic procedures. The topics of the training courses includes: basic & emergency laparoscopic procedures, hernia repair, eso-gastric procedures, colorectal procedures, uro-gynecology and bariatric & metabolic procedures. The faculty team has an 25 years experience in organizing laparoscopic training courses, for more than 2500 participants. The Faculty consists of more than 80 experts from Romania and abroad, and it is coordinated by Catalin Copaescu MD PhD. The Courses are endorsed and organized together by the Romanian Association of Endoscopic Surgery (RAES) and the Romanian Medical Academy of Medical Sciences, since 2012. The graduation certificate, issued by the Romanian Medical College of Physicians includes 18 CME credits per event. Our training Center has also been involved in other educational and scientific activities, like Video Assisted Intubation Workshops, Training Courses in Robotic Assisted Surgery, live surgery demonstrations transmitted HD from the OR to other centers from Romania and abroad. As Ponderas Academic Hospital is a Bariatric Center of Excellence, almost every month are organized Clinical Immersions on Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery for surgeons coming from a large number of countries (ex. Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Jordan, Lebanon, South Arabia, Latvia, Croatia, etc.)

Over two intensive days, participants will explore every essential aspect of Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC), from biological rationale and clinical evidence to safe implementation and hands-on practice.

🎓 Dan Eniu, MD

A leading surgical oncologist with extensive experience in the treatment of advanced abdominal malignancies, Dr. Eniu has been actively involved in the development of peritoneal surface malignancy programs in Romania and in the clinical implementation of innovative treatment strategies, including PIPAC.

🎓 Adrian Bartoș, MD

A dedicated advocate of multidisciplinary cancer care, Dr. Bartoș has contributed to the development of collaborative approaches for patients with rare and complex peritoneal malignancies, supporting both clinical practice and professional education.

Dr. Tomulescu, the President of Romanian Association for Endoscopic Surgery, has been actively involved in the advancement of minimally invasive surgery, surgical training, and laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Romania.
