Schimbarea plasei reprezintă o excepție medicală, justificată doar de apariția unor complicații clinice specifice. Informațiile esențiale privind evoluția pe termen lung a plasei chirurgicale și semnele care necesită atenție medicală sunt detaliate în imaginile din carusel.

„Este normal să curgă lichid pe la operație?”
Nu, în mod normal acest lucru nu ar trebui să se întâmple.

Desigur, nu vă pot răspunde punctual fără să cunosc mai multe detalii despre intervenție, tipul operației și momentul în care a apărut această scurgere. Însă, dacă în cadrul intervenției a fost implantată o plasă, aceasta poate fi asociată cu formarea unei colecții de lichid, numită serom.

Problema este că un astfel de lichid nu trebuie ignorat. Lăsat netratat, el se poate suprainfecta și poate duce la complicații care necesită tratament suplimentar.

De aceea, dacă observați că plaga elimină lichid, nu mai așteptați și nu încercați să rezolvați problema acasă. Adresați-vă cât mai repede medicului care v-a operat sau unui chirurg pentru evaluare.

În chirurgie, intervenția la timp face adesea diferența dintre o problemă minoră și o complicație importantă.

Today, during the Robotic Surgery Pre-Congress Course of EHS Porto 2026, Portugal became another memorable stop in a journey that has now reached 11 European countries in which I have had the privilege of performing live demonstrative surgery.

I am genuinely happy to share my experience with fellow surgeons driven by enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion for abdominal wall reconstruction and robotic surgery.

Beyond the operating room, surgical education, mentorship, and the exchange of ideas remain among the most meaningful parts of our profession.

Grateful to the European Hernia Society and to all colleagues who continue to make these educational experiences possible.

„Cât costă o operație de hernie?” Este una dintre cele mai frecvente întrebări pe care le primesc, însă nu există un răspuns universal.

Costurile diferă de la pacient la pacient, deoarece fiecare caz are particularitățile lui. Contează tipul herniei, dimensiunea acesteia, complexitatea intervenției, tehnica operatorie aleasă, dar și istoricul medical al pacientului.

Tocmai de aceea, încadrarea unei operații în gradul corespunzător de complexitate se face doar în urma unui consult de specialitate, după evaluarea completă a pacientului și stabilirea celei mai potrivite strategii terapeutice.

Centura abdominală poate masca temporar simptomele, însă nu repară cauza reală a herniei.

Hernia este un defect al peretelui abdominal, nu o problemă care „trece” prin compresie sau repaus.

De multe ori, purtarea constantă a centurii oferă o falsă senzație de siguranță și poate întârzia prezentarea la medic, până în momentul în care apar complicații.

Din fericire, chirurgia modernă ne permite astăzi să tratăm herniile prin tehnici minim invazive, laparoscopic sau robotic, cu recuperare mult mai rapidă și rezultate foarte bune pentru pacient.

Being nominated for Trainer of the Year by the European Hernia Society is a true honor.

Surgery gives us many rewards: difficult cases solved, anatomy respected, patients restored, innovation, progress.

But there is another form of satisfaction that, with time, becomes equally meaningful: the privilege of giving knowledge away.

Teaching. Sharing. Opening doors. Standing next to colleagues in the OR. Discussing anatomy, strategy, mistakes, solutions, philosophy.

Because surgery should never be a solitary exercise.

What we learn was entrusted to us by mentors, teachers, friends, pioneers. Our duty is to pass it further — generously, honestly, passionately.

Not only to become better surgeons ourselves, but to help others become better than us.

For me, this is one of the deepest joys of our profession.

Grateful. Humbled. Inspired to keep teaching, learning, and sharing.
