After receiving his medical degree from the University of Heidelberg, Prof. Thilo Hackert continued surgical education in Heidelberg and specialized in visceral surgery with a focus on pancreatic diseases, both clinically and scientifically. He became associate Professor in Heidelberg in 2012, head of the section for pancreatic surgery in 2014 and vice Chairman of the department in 2018. Besides doing all types of general and visceral surgery as well as liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, his special focus has been robotic surgery since 2016. Professor Thilo Hackert is the Chairman of the Department of General, Visceral and Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany.
