For ASIA, an emergency does not end with the first relief. Today what matters is saving lives and providing water, shelter and essential supplies. But it is the years that follow that will decide whether these communities rebuild their lives or are left more vulnerable than before.
Over eleven years in Rasuwa, where the flood struck, ASIA has worked alongside communities rebuilding after the 2015 earthquake: 11,806 people reached with temporary shelters, essential supplies, sanitation and vocational training; 58 temporary classrooms across 18 schools and 4 earthquake-resistant schools rebuilt. Then water and sanitation, education and livelihoods, strengthening communities' self-reliance.
International attention lasts a few weeks. Reconstruction takes years: restoring water, homes, schools and livelihoods will take time, resources and a presence on the ground. And the affected communities cannot be left to do it alone.

Per ASIA un'emergenza non si esaurisce nei primi soccorsi. Oggi è indispensabile salvare vite e garantire acqua, ripari e beni di prima necessità. Ma saranno gli anni successivi a decidere se queste comunità ricostruiranno la propria vita o resteranno più vulnerabili di prima.
In undici anni a Rasuwa, dove la piena si è abbattuta, ASIA ha accompagnato le comunità nella ricostruzione dopo il terremoto del 2015: 11.806 persone raggiunte con alloggi temporanei, beni essenziali, servizi igienici e formazione professionale; 58 aule temporanee in 18 scuole e 4 scuole antisismiche ricostruite. Poi acqua e igiene, istruzione e mezzi di sussistenza, per rafforzare l'autosufficienza delle comunità.
L'attenzione internazionale dura poche settimane. La ricostruzione richiede anni: ripristinare acqua, case, scuole e mezzi di sussistenza richiederà tempo, risorse e presenza sul territorio. E le comunità colpite non possono essere lasciate sole a farlo.
