Ready to face your fears? A place that's been closed for ages is opening its doors to the community tomorrow.

Climb through the narrow staircases of Timișoara's 1914 water tower, step inside its historic water chambers, and, if you're brave enough, walk across a glass platform high above the city.

Tomorrow marks the grand opening of this extraordinary new vertical cultural venue, and Heritage of Timișoara and yours truly will be leading 5 guided tours throughout the day (via previous registration).

Din misterele podurilor. În cazul de față cel al Palatului Ancora (Kudelich-Sailer) (Horgony-palota, das Anker Palast)și al domnului cu taler beret din medalionului care astfel, prin grija artiștilor locali și a pasionaților de istorie și arhitectura capătă o nouă viață. Mulțumim . Pentru mine, life-long-learning, cm îi stă bine unul ghid. Lucru manual, cm îi stă bine unui creier obosit. Good drinks and lovely company, pentru că adultul din mine merită.

For more than a century, Casa Mühle has quietly witnessed the story of Timișoara. 🌹

What began as the home of Wilhelm Mühle — renowned florist, horticulturist, and imperial flower provider — later became the residence of his son, Árpád Mühle, celebrated landscape architect and creator of some of the rose varieties that reached royal courts across Europe. Around this house once stretched the family’s famous gardens and plant nursery, a sea of flowers that helped shape the identity of Timișoara as the “City of Roses.”

But the legacy of the Mühle family goes far beyond floriculture.

The land on which today’s Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara campus stands was once part of the Mühle family gardens — land donated by the family so that Timișoara could have its very first university.

After decades of glory, decline, abandonment, and uncertainty, Casa Mühle has now entered a new chapter. Purchased by UPT (it seemed only natural that it should) and temporarily reopened to the public last Saturday, the house is once again becoming a place for the community: a meeting point between heritage, education, culture, and memory.

A house that once helped Timișoara bloom is now opening its doors once again — not just as a restored building, but as a bridge between the city’s past and future. 🌿

P.S. Fingers crossed that the clone of the Hans Molisch (one of the Mühle rose species) makes it and we get to enjoy it once again in Timișoara.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of guiding several incredible guests of this year’s edition of Tech Talks by UPT in Timișoara.

The 2026 edition, themed “Irreplaceable – The Future Needs Humans,” brought together international voices in technology, AI, innovation, ethics, and human-centered design for a conversation about what remains uniquely human in a world increasingly shaped by algorithms. (Tech Talks)

I had the honor of showing the city to:✨ Matt Hudson✨ Nikki Greenberg✨ Pascal Bornet and government representatives.

Beyond the conference stage, it was wonderful to share the atmosphere, history, and spirit of Timișoara with such inspiring people. Conversations about technology are important — but so are the human connections, stories, and experiences that happen around them.

Grateful for the trust, the conversations, and another reminder that Timișoara continues to grow as an international hub for ideas, culture, and innovation.

Last week, scouts from around the world gathered in Timisoara for an inspiring day of learning and connection during the Innovative Thinking Lab. After engaging talks from civic and cultural leaders, the scouts participated in a human rights workshop, and the day culminated in a guided tour of Timisoara. I had the honor of leading them through the historic city walls, sharing its architectural beauty and its pivotal role in the 1989 revolution—leading up to its designation as a European Capital of Culture in 2023.
Always happy if I can pitch in in the world of NGOS and non-formal education, my first love and cornerstone for who I now am.

Today was my second time on the big screen. The universe must be on to something 😁
This was the launch of an inspiring community campaign called (Revolutionary) Timișoara Revoluționară, and the girl with the red umbrella was part of the promo video. This is not about nostalgia nor is it about an actual fight. The campaign carries forward the spirit of 1989 and transforms it into a project about courage, competence, innovation and excellence. The things that are actually produced here and the whole world (and outer space) uses...mind blowing! Stay tuned for the (r)evolution!
