SIBERIAN STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IS THE FIRST RUSSIAN UNIVERSITY TO RELEASE THE NFT COLLECTION

"We are focusing on new technologies in research and educational activities and clinical practice, but we also need to focus on modern trends that are interesting for youth. Last year SibMed successfully joined TikTok, and now we are the first among Russian universities to release our official collection of NFTs. Thus, we want to promote a career in medicine among future students." - highlighted Evgeny Kulikov, the Rector of Siberian State Medical University.

The 'Doctors are Heroes' NFT collection includes four cartoon characters depicting various medical workers.

"COVID-19 has clearly shown what job is the most important during these uncertain times. All medical workers are one big team with one common goal - HELP! And our applicants and students are future Superheroes too! We want this to inspire students-to-be to choose medical education for their professional development," - Professor Kulikov said.

The author of each cartoon character is a Siberian State Medical University student.

It is known that there is an ambiguous attitude towards NFTs in modern society; for the elderly, this is generally an incomprehensible phenomenon, but tokens are gaining popularity among the youth. So, universities need to learn how to work in new conditions and use modern trends to develop.

Each NFT from the Siberian State Medical University collection is offered for 1 Ethereum, equivalent to $3,000.

SibMed certified all three activities according to the international QMS standard 🙌🏻

Siberian State Medical University received a certificate of QMS compliance according to ISO 9001:2015

📍SibMed was independently audited by the certification body from Slovakia. During the audit all clauses of ISO 9001:2015 standard were evaluated – organizational context, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation and improvement. The document is valid for 3 years.

"International certification confirms our commitment to the quality principles, opens up opportunities for cooperation with new partners, gives the right to participate in contests, tenders and grants that require compliance with the ISO 9001 standard. It is noteworthy that for the first time all three main processes are included in the certification scope: education, science and medical activity," commented SibMed Rector Evgeny Kulikov.

👉🏻 This certification is not mandatory, but it demonstrates the University's ability to consistently provide quality services that meet the requirements of students, patients, the scientific community and regulations.

The overall weight of indicators is 45% Education, 25% Research, and 30% the Third mission (University and Society).

Altogether 97 countries and territories are represented in the 2021 ranking.

📍SibMed launches a unique online Foundation Course for international prospective students.

This course is for international applicants who wish to enter a degree in General Medicine (English track) but still need to meet the admission requirements and take entrance exams in Biology and Chemistry.

The Foundation Course will be taught fully in the English language and help students to prepare for the entry exams. In addition, the course programme will offer students seminars about Russian culture and living in Tomsk, some basics of the Russian language. This will be an intensive 6 weeks training that will help students to increase their admission changes and meet Russia online.

A great example of the tremendous work: research project aimed at understanding physiological conditions and specific features of a tumor to enhance nanoparticle delivery.

SibMed researchers, for the first time, developed the Fe(3)O(4) magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) conjugated with pHLIP (MNP-pHLIP). The experiment has shown their ability to target LLC tumors in mice.

The time of the most beautiful holidays in the year is coming, the time when there is space to meet the family next at the New Year Eve table.
This period has its own charm as well since almost every communication starts with New Year's wishes. The New Year period is also precious because it is preceded by a hectic time of completing scientific projects, and performing duties in the educational process that characterize the end of the semester, and we are eager to slow down the working pace, to enjoy the festive atmosphere in the family, and to recharge our batteries.

Joint Zoom-meeting with representatives of the Severance Hospital (Korea) was held based on the SibMed Clinics. Within the framework of the meeting, participants discussed the launching of mutually beneficial cooperation between clinics in terms of organizing joint educational initiatives in the field of telemedicine technologies, as well as cooperation in research.

“Despite the difficult epidemiological situation related to a new coronavirus infection caused by 2019-nCoV, we are trying to establish new contacts with international colleagues, which we will certainly develop in the future. Now the priority area for us is the integration of research activities and clinical practice into the international agenda, as well as the development of digital technologies. Cooperation with Korean partners, who are recognized experts in the field of digital healthcare, provides excellent perspectives for our doctors and researchers”, - highlighted the SibMed Clinic's Chief Doctor Alena Levko.

Based on the results of the meeting, both parties agreed to organize international joint round tables aimed at sharing experiences and studying best practices in the field of telemedicine and digital health.

SibMed has explored its youth policy issues that fall within six substantive clusters that emerge from extra-curriculum activities and the university's social policy:
'Socially educational work.'
'International and inter-ethnic interaction.'
'Sport and Health care.'
'Social elevators and Employment.'
'Motivational programs and Communication.'

Together with staff and students, we've organized the strategic session on youth policy development. The strategic session was primarily geared towards strengthening the student community's capabilities to tackle emerging challenges related to extra-curriculum activities and social policy and cope with or mitigate the ramifications of conflicts and miscommunication and the spillover effects on attaining university development priorities, including the 'General Development Strategy - 2030' Goals.

Considering the existing epidemiological situation, participants interact and share ideas using modern information and communications technologies.

At the end of the strategic session, participants (students, resident students, young researchers, lecturers, professors, and administrative staff):
- have become familiar with university youth policy frameworks and their cornerstones, such as main concepts and ideas;
- have become familiar with the stakeholders involved, their roles, and their previous and current activities on youth policy;
- have become familiar with instruments and approaches to youth policy;
- have become familiar with available resources to support youth policy development and implementation in the university;
- have become confident in shaping manageable strategies for intervention.

When it comes to youth policy and youth development, we are open to new ideas and expertise!

One of the most exciting and forward-looking areas of cooperation for Siberian State Medical University is studying the effect of promising EFKO products (for example, low-calorie fats, vegetable meat, sugar substitutes, etc.) on human metabolism. Partnering in this area will allow SibMed researchers to track further development of the personalized nutrition market. The formation of the shared database, comprising data and research results on the impact of consumed products on human health and activity, will allow making the transition to personalized and functional nutrition much faster and, as a result, improve the quality of life of the population.

It is necessary to highlight, that the EFKO Group fosters innovation through carrying out an extensive program of new product and technology development, implementing and improving the Group's quality control system, and automating its business processes. The company is also actively developing promising areas in the FoodTech field.

In this regard, one of the promising approaches is the development of a personalized strategy of health preservation, which is based on a comprehensive analysis of individual parameters, as well as a specific approach to health preservation, which allows not only to prevent the development of obesity but achieve optimal levels of physical and mental functioning’.

The participation of the EFKO Group in the functional nutrition program as an industrial partner of SibMed will allow combating childhood obesity as efficiently as possible and implement the agenda for the introduction of targeted and functional nutrition.
